Un homme et une femme assistent, impuissants, à la disparition de tous leurs repères avec un mélange de perplexité, de désarroi et d’humour. Dérivant d’un questionnement existentiel autour d’un effondrement de la civilisation dont on ne saura jamais s’il est avéré ou seulement appréhendé par les deux protagonistes, et centré sur la figure emblématique du Prince de Miguasha (un poisson du dévonien dont les seuls spécimens fossilisés ont été trouvés au Québec), cette pièce en un acte donne à entendre la voix de cette créature fabuleuse et improbable, de cette bête à deux têtes qu’est le couple.
A man and a woman watch, helpless, as all their landmarks disappear, with a mixture of perplexity, dismay, and humour. Arising from an existential questioning around the collapse of civilisation – which we never know whether it comes to pass or is simply foreboded by the protagonists – and centered around the emblematic Prince of Miguasha (a prehistoric fish from the Devonian whose only fossilized remains were found in Quebec), this play in one act gives a voice to this fabled and improbable creature, to this two-headed beast that is the couple.
